this is so embarassing, but I'm really excited they are letting me buy a parts book and repair manual for our ISX. I think my company will buy an Insite program sometime in my next dream.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one steps. Perhaps you could explain to your boss that for the next 40 hours of Cummins dealer labor, he could probably pay for a new Dell laptop and Insite. I got my dad to buy a laptop with Navistar software and we have already paid for it in increased revenue and fastor diagnosis.

Cummins has a download called powerspec www.powerspec.cummins.com. this is a free software that you use on a laptop. and you have to get a free license key from your Cummins distributor service rep thats good for two years. load it and go to options, register and get the pc id# and call the Cummins guy. the nexiq usb "blue box" works great with it. and you can get codes and do things like program road speed but no calibrations.

Also be advised, if you want to communicate with the EPA'07 Cat you have to use the Cat comm adapter 2 or 3 because they communicate on dual data links j1939/j1708.

another cool thing about the powerspec website is that there is good explainations of the cummins features and parameters. I'll go there when I need help understanding the parameters and their settings.
