![]() ![]() Posts: 301 | Q plus with work with either cam style but standard Q will only work with standard cams. I've never heard the saying about trailers but my guess is that they quit making standard Q shoes and cams after that year. ASE Master Truck Technician L2 Advanced Level Certified | ||

![]() Joined: Fri Sep 18 2009, 10:50AM Posts: 149 | I've not heard that trailers built after 2000 only having Q plus brakes on them, as some of the newer trailers I've re-shod recently have actually had standard Q or even Eaton ES shoes on them. I was kinda thrown on seeing Eaton ES brakes on a trailer but I guess anything is possible. Anything worth doing is worth doing well!! | ||

![]() Joined: Tue Oct 20 2009, 08:30PM Posts: 78 | I took over a trailer brake job from another tech and found that the shoes that where on it from the previous brake job where the wrong shoe. Found that when a Q plus shoe was installed on the s-cam the return spring was loose and away from the lower pin. I belive the trailer was a 99-2000. MasterTech_TA022 ![]() | ||
