Strange as it may seem, the charging ports for the system were located on the compressor itself with no other locations available to add charging ports. I ended up installing 90 deg ports and charging it thru the low side, even though I had to jumper the clutch to power to get it to engage. I tried unsuccessfully to charge on the high side with the truck off but ended up going the low-side/comp running routine my boss showed me several years ago. An hour later, I had the proper new R134A charge in the system and it was cooling as best as could happen in a 60 deg shop. Any thoughts on where else a charging port could be installed on a rig like this? Anything worth doing is worth doing well!! | ||
